In this section we present the projects developed by ARAMIS for the Aerospace industry

Description

Ice accretion (on aircraft wings) may critically impact the aerodynamics of aircraft components resulting in a 1) decreasing in maximum lift, stall angle and quality; 2) increasing of drag even at low angles of attack and 3) loss of controllability due to large separated area.

Aramis has developed an online fault detection method based on the advanced time-frequency analysis of the vibration signals in order to evaluate the onset of dangerous ice accretion.

Description

When dealing with very expensive assets, such as aircrafts, it is often impossible to perform invasive and destructive inspections: to overcome this problem, a possible solution is represented by Structural Health Monitoring (SHM).

Aramis has developed an SHM approach which, based on the analysis of the propagation of ultrasonic waves in the aircraft structure, aims at detecting the presence of a structural damage in a non-destructive way.

Description

Aramis has developed a system to automatically estimate the reliability of the components of a fleet of thousands of helicopters, considering the related uncertainty. To do this, many different sources of operational data were first aggregated and preprocessed to get the population from which the reliability of each component is inferred.
